Roman Catholic Mallorca Wedding

Mallorca has some 250 churches and hermitages and sanctuaries all over the island, all are available to Roman Catholics for their weddings. Some are perched high on mountains, in ancient villages which seem to cling precariously to the mountain sides. Others have shrines and are places of pilgrimage. Others, like the wonderful basilica of St Francis, gleaming with gold, are in the old centre of Palma City. (see church pics)

If you want an elegant wedding in the town, we have some wonderful venues for you. Apart from your wedding in the Basilica, you can have your reception in a palace and even stay in a palace! Five star luxury all the way! (see hotel pics)

We have been informed by the Roman Catholic Church in Mallorca that you do not need to have your civil registration in the UK first. Being a Catholic country, Mallorca's priests are also registrars. The paperwork is a bit more complicated but we are pleased to be able to offer a FULL wedding for Roman Catholics now in Mallorca.

Please note, this concession does apply only to Roman Catholic weddings.

There is the charming Mallorcan custom of a group of dancers who do a stately dance up the aisle with the offertory (Oferta). Once, dances during Mass were part of European Church ceremony. Now these are rarely done, but it is a beautiful addition to a Mallorcan wedding.

The priest for your Catholic wedding is Father Julian Cifre Vanrell. He is priest of the diocese of Mallorca and the military diocese of Madrid; he has been a military chaplain for some years now. His English is excellent, and Father Julian will make your day a memorable one.

His sermons never bore, and his famous advice for all couples is 'Husbands, you must always have the last word - and that word is AMEN to everything your wife says!'
